TRIPS FOR CANCER was launched by Elite
Travel International’s Stacy Small in
April 2006 as a way to raise money for the Leukemia
& Lymphoma Society's fight against cancer. As a
candidate for the 2006 Palm Beach County "Woman of the Year",
Stacy Small enlisted the support of dozens of luxury hotels
and travel companies, including Continental Airlines, and created
an online luxury travel auction site where people had the opportunity
to "make a donation, take a vacation" by bidding on
all luxury trips worldwide. In total, Stacy's unique TRIPS FOR CANCER campaign raised more than $84,000, and earned her not just the local but the National Woman of the Year title.
Starting March 1,
2007, luxury travelers worldwide will have the opportunity
to once again “make a donation, take a vacation”
through Elite Travel International's TRIPS FOR CANCER luxury travel online auction.
The public will be able to bid on dozens of trips
posted at this site,
and the auction will run for approximately four weeks.
All proceeds from this year’s campaign will
be donated to The Breast
Cancer Research Foundation in memory
of Stacy’s father Jerry Small, who sadly passed
away in November after a long battle with cancer,
and in honor of her mom, Sheila Small, a two-time
breast cancer survivor.
